PRE-FAME:
He was born as the youngest child in a family of five. From an early age, he was impressed and inspired by watching KinKi Kids. Eventually, he joined Johnny & Associates in April 1995 when he was only 13. In the same year, he had his first acting role in a drama Mokuyou no Kaidan as Akaboshi Noboro. He continued to expand his fan base with each drama. However, he did not rise to prominence until 1999 when he starred in the controversial yet popular drama Majo no Jouken with co-star Nanako Matsushima, in which he played a high-school transfer student, Kurosawa Hikaru, who fell in love with his teacher. This was his first leading role and received positive reviews.

It was group formed when the 9 members from different JE groups met up for dinner and decided to name themselves "No Border". They are known to interact freely, bypassing the senpai-kouhai relationships formed by JE.
